Yahoo.com and the other services owned by the company went down a few minutes ago, with users worldwide no longer being able to log in or to connect to the online portal.
Specifics on the outage are not available at the time of writing this article, but we’re seeing reports of connectivity issues from both the United States and Europe.
While the company has remained tight-lipped on everything related to the downtime, services like DownDetector.com indicate that San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, as well as Seattle and New York are all affected in the United States.
Some parts of Canada are also experiencing issues connecting to Yahoo.
“Websites down or experiencing major slowdowns”
As far as Europe is concerned, Yahoo is down for the majority of users in France, Greece, and Spain. A number of users in Italy, the UK, and the Netherlands can’t access Yahoo services either.
In most of the cases, Yahoo services don’t load at all, while some claim they do manage to get to the sign-in page, only that they can’t see any content afterwards. The image server appears to be down as well.
Those who are a little bit luckier can actually get into their accounts, only that the loading process takes up to five minutes. The same for the homepage, which works intermittently depending on region.
We have reached out to Yahoo to ask for more information on what caused the outage, so we’ll update the article when and if an answer is provided.
